Two non-governmental organizations selected in Serbia and in Montenegro on basis of open call on monitoring implementation of labour rights from gender perspectiveIn Serbia, a call for concept notes was issued in March and open to civil society organizations (CSOs) in the area of strengthening capacities to monitor implementation of labour rights from gender perspective. As a result, two CSOs were selected for the implementation of the following projects: Raising awareness about the best corporate social responsibility practice in promoting women’s position at the labour market by Association of Business Women (ABW) in Serbia and New women entrepreneurs of Vojvodina -Appendix to analysis of the effects of the support programs for women self-employment in Vojvodina by the Centre for Support of Women (CSW) of Kikinda. Youth SAY NO TO VIOLENCE at Sarajevo Film Festival
UNIFEM (part of UN Women) supported the activities of 14 young volunteers from Sarajevo and Tuzla during the Sarajevo Film Festival, encouraging young people to take action against gender-based violence and promote gender equality through the SAY NO – UNiTE campaign. Read more

Seven non-governmental organizations selected on basis of open call in support of Standardisation of legal aid service provision to survivors of domestic violence in FYR Macedonia
Following an open call for proposals announced in March 2010, seven non-governmental organisations (NGOs) have been selected to provide legal aid services to survivors of domestic violence and pilot the standards for legal aid offered by NGOs. Read more
Backi Petrovac - Municipal Act on Gender Equality Passed
On March 30, 2010, local councillors in Backi Petrovac, a community with a Slovak majority in the ethnically diverse Serbian province of Vojvodina, passed a municipal Act on Gender Equality, making it only the second municipality in Serbia to have taken such a decision at local level.
